Finding the Right NutriSystem Program for You
NutriSystem is among the most popular diet brands. Supporting the weight loss of millions since 1972, NutriSystem makes it simple with their meal delivery service, providing portion control, calorie control and a balance of healthy foods.
NutriSystem was one of the first to offer this convenient service, shipping a month’s worth of meals plus snacks and eliminating the need to grocery shop and do prep work. Each meal is quickly heated and can be accompanied with fresh produce of your choice. The NutriSystem meals abide by the glycemic index, are low in fat, sodium, and calories and come pre-packed in the appropriate serving size. The ratio of nutrients in NutriSystem meals is 55 percent carbohydrates, 25 percent healthy fats and 20 percent protein. Typically men will consume 1,500 calories each day and women 1,200 calories.
No matter who you are, there is a NutriSystem plan to suit your needs:
NutriSystem Advanced: These low-glycemic meals boast omega-3 fatty acids and natural fiber for added heart health and will help you feel fuller for longer. These meals are also made of healthy carbs, low fat and protein.
NutriSystem Select: Adhering to the basics of the NutriSystem diet, you’ll receive meals for three weeks that will include their new frozen choices like ice cream or pizza.
NutriSystem Flex: This NutriSystem plan is more affordable, providing five days of food each week instead of seven. You’ll enjoy both the convenience of pre-made, balanced meals as well as the ability to cook for yourself or dine out.
NutriSystem Nourish: This puts the diet in your hands, as it’s a book the outlines a one-month program for preparing your own meals while following the NutriSystem guidelines.
NutriSystem D: One of the newer NutriSystem programs, this is designed just for those managing a diabetic diet.
NutriSystem Vegetarian: You’ll enjoy satisfying healthy proteins with a solely plant-based diet, as there are no meat menu options.
NutriSystem for Men: For the men who need to lose a few pounds but want to enjoy their favorites, this program satisfies their needs while following the balanced NutriSystem program.
Nu-Kitchen Fresh: The newest program offering from NutriSystem delivers fresh meals prepared by a chef. This approach is vastly different than the frozen or shelf-stable foods available in the other program options.
No matter which program you choose, all ordering is conducted via NutriSystem’s website or by phone. The food is shipped monthly and arrives in shelf-stable packaging that simply needs to be heated prior to consuming. You are encouraged to make your own fresh fruit and vegetable purchases to add more flavor, variety and nutritional value to the meals.
NutriSystem primarily focuses on the food aspect of weight loss, offering little support in the way of fitness and exercise. Those following the NutriSystem Advanced plan will have access to the workout DVDs. Outside of this, it is generally up to each client to decide the fitness approach that is best for them.
For many people, simply tackling dietary choices can mean all the difference in the world for their weight. With NutriSystem, it’s easy to enjoy a variety of meals that are nutritionally balanced, portion controlled, and within a reasonable calorie budget.

is this ok
im 14 128 pounds and im 5 foot 4
im looking to lose 10 pounds in 3 months
thank you
For a man this is ridiculous, for a woman this is a bit much. You should up your calorie intake just a bit, because with all the workouts, you’ll overexert yourself. I don’t know the pounds weight thing, because I’m a metric girly, but it sounds like you’re doing a bit much without the need to actually lose weight?
I don’t work out currently, eat 1800-1900 kcals a day and am slowly but steadily losing weight. No rush means no yo-yo.
Please take care, try something easier first and if it doesn’t show results in a month, increase the intensity. You have all the time in the world – you won’t die without a perfect bikini body, but you might die if you develop anorexia. Maybe you could ask your physician to look over your schedule for you? He or she can probably help you create the safest one. You’re young, still growing probably, and growth needs calories too. Please be careful!
Good luck
In this day and age, most of us are searching for ways to simplify our lives, including making mealtimes easier to deal with and enjoyable for all in the family. It’s gotten to the point where many people have turned to frozen foodstuffs in order to save time and energy! I don’t know about you, but for me the mere thought of keeping a stock of frozen items, checking to see which ones are still fit to be used, all while planning 3 square meals is disturbing! As an alternative, I think crock pot cooking is a fabulous idea.... Click here to read the rest of the article: The Joys of Cooking!
