New Portable Grills Advice And Buying Tips

Portable grills are a reliable source of cooking your food in a variety of locations, for example they are perfect for those camping holidays some people like to go on, or just having a simple family barbecue in your backyard or garden.

There are different varieties of grills for you to choose from when wanting to purchase, there is a small version that would probably cope with cooking enough food for two or three people, or you could go for a larger version which would be ideal if you are planning on having a barbecue party for a few friends. There is also the fuel options to choose from when thinking of buying your portable grill, you can choose the popular propane type grills which have been around for a while now, this type will require a propane gas tank which you will have to refill once in while. Or there is the charcoal type grill which a lot of people like to use when going on their camping holidays, or having a day at the beach.

You could select an electric type grill which would be very easy to use in your backyard or garden, another benefit with an electric type grill is you can forget about buying expensive propane tanks and paying for refilling them when they are empty, and there is no need to carry around heavy bags of wood or charcoal to fuel your portable grill.

Another option to consider is the wood burning type which seems to be one of the most popular ones in use, this could be because when you are using a wood burning grill it adds a certain taste and aroma to the food you are cooking. The wood burning type grills are probably the least expensive you can purchase, you can browse the Internet to get an idea of what they would cost you to buy. There are many different sizes of grills on the market to choose from, to get an idea of what size you will need just think of how many people on average you will be cooking for when using your grill, when looking to purchase a grill you can tell how big or small the grill is by the cooking area advertised.

Which ever grill you decide to buy you should also purchase the required accessories that you will need to operate it efficiently and safely, these would include a good quality set of stainless steel tongs to move the food around, and another very important accessory to buy would be an infrared thermometer to help you to know when the food is properly cooked. Some grills you can buy will have an internal thermometer already installed in the unit, but for the standard grill the infrared thermometer is ideal to keep you from having to cut in to the food to check wether it is cooked or not, this tool can also save you time when you are grilling.

So for a great meal outdoors buy your portable grill with the right accessories and enjoy preparing some great food for family and friends.

COOKS/CHEFS……do u use infrared thermometers? What do u use it for? Best brand?

I am into thermometers….. contemplating buying an infrared thermometer and am wondering what other cooks use them for in cooking, mostly. What’s the best buy for your money? Any comments on cooking with thermometers would be interesting to hear about. If u need one re-calibrated… do you just buy a new one? I’m not mechanically inclined……
Temperature range??

Hi i never used on for cooking but i use one at work it’’s a RAY TECH,i don’t think they ever have to be re calibrated. As far as price the wider the temp. range on them the higher the price’i would stick with the cheaper models if i was u.

In this day and age, most of us are searching for ways to simplify our lives, including making mealtimes easier to deal with and enjoyable for all in the family. It’s gotten to the point where many people have turned to frozen foodstuffs in order to save time and energy! I don’t know about you, but for me the mere thought of keeping a stock of frozen items, checking to see which ones are still fit to be used, all while planning 3 square meals is disturbing!
